Version 3: Reboot

July 23, 2025

The biggest overhaul of TakeThatMom! yet, hence why it's called "reboot". I eventually realized that the original style wasn't an aesthetic I wanted, so I created an entirely new design with original assets, including a logo. It took a lot of trial and error to create this more unique layout. The massive redesign was largelydue to the fact that this took about a year to decide, which in turn made me learn more CSS and some JavaScript. If you haven't read the blog post about the unused designs, click here.

The first image had very small text for the updates, but it was eventually changed to a clickable tab because the text might've been too small formost to see and notice the updates were in a separate page.

The third image has a minor change to the logo. During the logo's first version, I wasn't very experienced with Inkscape enough to make clean, precise designsand I generally thought the font choice was a little too messy. Eventually I did learn ways to make neater designs, so the logo was refined.

I'm very proud of this one because it wasn't a traditional grid layout. As charming as this was, however, I would eventually retire this layout because I wanted to make the index more clean as the unevenness, combined with the fact you have to dart your eyes a bunch just to read the name of a page you're hovering on, eventually didn't work out for me.

Version 2: Cleaner Layout

January 27, 2024

A layout update with the same aesthetic as the previous. By this point, I was starting to get a grasp at CSS, putting it in the proper tag. An actual font was chosen for the header, a nicer navigation section was created, a drop shadow was placed behind the center image and header, and itoverall looked cleaner. Two versions of this layout exist due to the overhaul of the navigation bar in favor of buttons. Honestly, the buttons look worselooking back. This version would be the final version of the original TakeThatMom! aesthetic.

Initial Launch

September 17, 2023

The very first version of TakeThatMom! I initially wanted to go for an "old web" style with a primary color scheme, jank and all. As expected for a first timer, the design was pretty basic. Majority of the assets (aside from the center image, which was made by myself) were from third-party sources. I even had a hit counter below the center image, though you can't see it now due to it being broken. The funniest memory associated with this is how I thoughtI could code a website without CSS when it cannot be far from the truth and I eventually learned how important CSS is for a website. As bad as this design was, I miss it. A remnant of a simpler time.
